Scope of role
As an experienced member of the production engineering team, you will be responsible for the engineering and programming of production components to be manufactured by our skilled team of CNC Machinists.
Using your in depth knowledge of CNC Manufacturing techniques and technical understanding of machining metallic components, your role will be to review and evaluate best production practices for a wide range of customer production component requirements and to produce accurate CNC programmes using our Siemens NX CAD/CAM Software.
Combined with this, each CNC Programme will be verified using the latest Vericut simulation & verification software to ensure the highest level of efficiency and accuracy of programmes for the Machine Shop.
Principal Accountabilities:

Production engineering and review of customer component orders, working in hand with Quality & Inspection to ensure the optimum approach for manufacture.

In-depth review of component design specification requirements including understanding Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements

Design of machining fixtures to aid production and ensure the highest quality of finished component (as required)

Identify the optimal cutting tools for maximum efficiency and accuracy of cutting, including working closely with tooling suppliers to maintain up to date awareness of the latest machine cutter technology.

Working alongside the Machine Shop to ensure continuous feedback to advance and improve our production strategies for the future

Proactively keep up to date on latest advancements in CNC production methods, tooling technology and Siemens NX and Vericut software updates.
Essential Competencies:
-
A progressive career history moving from CNC Machining into CNC Programming/Production Engineering

Expertise in the production of CNC programmes for precision component manufacture sub 0.05.

Previous experience using either Hypermill, Siemens NX or Catia CAM Software

Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Enjoy engaging with fellow colleagues to share best practice experiences and ideas

Passionate about engineering and keen to take on new challenges

Previous experience in either Siemens NX or Vericut would be an advantage but not essential (Full Training Provided)
